Filming with a Drone at…an Airport!

Video

We were asked by Bountiful Flight to come film an intro flight for prospective students to get a taste of what flying is like. We went through a process of obtaining permits to fly our aerial rigs near the airport, we had a pilot with us to call in the movement of the drones. Our drone had its very own call sign, how cool is that? So while we were flying our drones we were communicating back to the pilot in the actual plane our altitudes, air speed, and bearings. After we obtained all of the aerial footage we needed we then obtained the ground footage. This was also an exhilarating experience, as we drove a truck 100mph down the runway with a rig set up in the bed of the truck. Chasing airplanes down a runway is actually a lot harder than you would think. We were then tempted next to wire someone up to the side of the plane like Mission Impossible Rogue Nation. Watch the video below, Tom Cruise was literally dangling from an Airbus 400 military plane by a few cables and a harness.

Screen Grabs

While the video we shot for Bountiful Flight has yet to be released here are a few screen grabs from the shoot. Thanks to all those who helped, and we love doing such awesome and fun projects.
